Tips for beautiful legs

In summer, the pants and skirts are shorter and reveal your legs. But do you have nice legs ?

If you’ve neglected to take care of them during the winter months, now is the time to take care of chasing away the traces of winter and making your legs beautiful for the summer!

The shape of our legs is not so easy to change, but their condition is. How pronounced your leg muscles develop during training, sport (or even without sport) is genetically predisposed.

If you are predisposed to “football calves”, then no care product will make your calves slimmer.

Accept the shape of your legs and hone their natural appearance with proper care. Because that’s the only thing you can really change about your legs!

peeling

peeling

The skin on the legs is often dry and it quickly forms small flakes of skin, which in extreme cases trickle down onto dark shoes or socks.

You should therefore get into the habit of exfoliating dead skin cells from the skin on your legs once or twice a week.

There are also special shower gels that exfoliate very gently, but also body scrubs, sea sand and almond bran, peeling gloves and hammam washcloths.

You can also very easily make a body scrub yourself by mixing salt or sugar with a little cooking oil into a paste and rubbing it off.

Coffee grounds work great too! Don’t forget to regularly exfoliate your knees as well. The skin is particularly dry there!

Stimulate blood circulation

Get in the habit of rubbing and massaging your legs vigorously with the towel after showering or bathing .

This stimulates blood circulation and metabolism and also removes dead skin cells. A well-perfused and peeled skin is optimally prepared for the subsequent care!

remove hair

No matter which method you want to use to remove the hair on your legs: it is important that the skin is soft and the pores of the skin are wide open before shaving or depilation.

This is the case, for example, after a shower or a full bath. This ensures that all of the hair is removed, especially before epilation, because it is easier to separate from soft skin.

If you shave wet, make sure the razor blades are fresh and sharp. Blades that are less sharp do not cut well and lead to skin irritation and micro-injuries that can become infected. The smoother the cut, the better.

Always shave against the direction of growth, epilate with the direction of growth. In “problem areas”, the skin tense when shaving and epilating! If you follow these guidelines, you will prevent ingrown hairs!

depilation

Take care of your skin

After a shower, peeling or hair removal, the skin of your legs always needs maintenance. After shaving or epilation, skin care products should contain soothing ingredients such as aloe vera.

For everyday life you choose a product that is tailored to the skin of your legs. It doesn’t have to be the same product that you use on other parts of your body. The lower legs often need more care than, for example, the skin on your stomach!

Body oils, such as almond oil or jojoba oil, are particularly well absorbed after the shower. Rub it between your hands and gently massage the oil into your skin.

Rich body lotions, body butters or creams provide optimal care for the thin skin on the lower leg. Don’t forget to take care of your knees here, too – the skin is particularly likely to be rough and brittle there!

Self-test: If the skin on your legs begins to tighten or itch during the course of the day, then the care was not sufficient and you should look for more extensive care!

tired legs

Browning for beautiful legs

Nobody really wants “cheese legs” that “glow in the dark”. But unfortunately, at the beginning of summer, all of our legs look like this. Either you stand by it and be patient until the first rays of sun have given your legs some color, or you help.

The quickest trick is to use very light and thin sheer tights that don’t warm, but give your legs a nice finish. The lower the “den” number on the pack, the more delicate the texture. 10 denier tights add a make-up touch to your legs.

However, 40den’s are common, so you have to be careful that it doesn’t look “granny”. The smaller the den number, the more ideal for faking “summer legs”! There are also special tights on the market that are advertised as having a “bronzing effect”.

If you don’t want to expose your legs to the unhealthy and skin cancer-causing UV rays to get color, then you can use self-tanners.

In order not to get blotchy legs as a result, your legs should definitely be pre-treated with a peeling and a moisturizer before use! In areas where the skin is particularly thick, for example on the knees, mix the self-tanner with some body lotion.
