Rose root

The rose root is still little known in Central Europe. It is an ancient medicinal plant that has been used for generations, especially in Siberian Russia and the Baltic states.

Rose root is a thick-leaved, very undemanding plant that also grows in our mountains. The Vikings are also said to have made use of their positive health effects, because this medicinal plant is also widespread in the mountain regions of Scandinavia.

Its leaves and flowers are nice to look at, but the active ingredients are in their roots : phenylpropanoids, phenylethanoids, flavonoids, phenylcarboxylic acids and mono- and triterpenes. Very scientific names. Important for you: These substances can increase mental and physical performance and improve long-term memory.

The research on rose root is not yet fully completed, but it is believed that the active ingredients from rose root not only have short-term effects, but can also protect the brain cells in the long term.

But it is also very useful for breakfast as a short-term “kick” for more concentration and performance.

In the pharmacy you can not only buy the dried roots for tea, but also food supplements that are based on the active ingredients of the roots.

They are supposed to improve stress-related exhaustion. Such remedies are often used in support of listlessness, mild depression and stress.

oats

Oats are a valuable source of carbohydrates – the most important fuel for our muscle engine. The carbohydrates with which our organism can do something in the long term are of course not those from sugar, but those that are found in cereal products.

The carbohydrates from oatmeal keep you full for a long time and prevent us from snacking unnecessarily between meals. In addition, the body can produce the happiness hormone serotonin from complex carbohydrates, including oatmeal.

Oats contain 15% protein, which is not that little! Protein is important for maintaining muscle mass. Vegetable protein is of higher quality for your body than animal protein. With oats you have a high-quality vegetable protein source!

Oatmeal is also high in fiber. Fiber is the indigestible part of our food.

They not only ensure a favorable course of the blood sugar level, but also a healthy digestion and, as a result, a good stool volume. Dietary fiber is also said to be helpful in preventing colon cancer.

The dietary fiber “scrubs” the cholesterol clinging in the digestive tract from the villi and ensures that too much cholesterol cannot be absorbed into the bloodstream. The beta-glucan contained in oats can also lower cholesterol levels.

Oat flakes contain a lot of magnesium and effectively protect against the negative effects of stress! Magnesium is also important for the metabolism, the development of protein (muscles!) And bone strength.

Calcium is not only found in milk! There are many herbal products that contain calcium, oats are one of them. Calcium in your diet is important for strong bones and to protect against osteoporosis.

Caution: Your body can only build calcium into the bones in conjunction with vitamin D3. Your body produces vitamin D3 all by itself under UV radiation – so go into the sun after breakfast! Maybe by bike to work?

Oats contain a lot of vitamin B1, which is also called thiamine. Vitamin B1 is also known as the “nerve vitamin”, it accelerates the transmission of stimuli between nerve cells and maintains the nerve and heart muscle tissue.

Vitamin B1 is also the “energy supply vitamin”, without which no carbohydrates and fats can be metabolized!
