Reducing blood sugar levels

Cinnamon is a widely used spice that is found in kitchens around the world. A large number of baked goods, desserts and some milkshakes in particular contain it.

In addition, this spice is  a natural medicine recommended for the treatment of various health ailments.

Some time ago, a study of sixty people with type II diabetes was conducted. This group then took  six grams each in addition to their normal diet for 40 days. This enabled the blood sugar levels to be reduced by up to 25% in all patients.

This spice can be used in a number of ways. You can add it to your desserts, take it with drinks and prepare a delicious tea.

To make a tea, we heat a cup of water. Then we add a few slivers of a fresh cinnamon stick or, as an alternative, a small powdered spoon.

The pot is covered and we let the tea steep for about 10 minutes. You can sweeten this tea with a little honey.

Another option is to refine the coffee with a little powdered cinnamon. This spice can also be used in muesli or for fruit juices or other drinks. Cookies, cakes and other desserts also taste great when seasoned.

This spice is widely available and also inexpensive. For these reasons, there is no excuse not to have cinnamon in the kitchen.

It is always better to buy cinnamon sticks instead of powder, because there are more health-promoting ingredients in the  peel of this spice.

Even though it is an effective way of lowering blood sugar and cholesterol levels,  you should still take medication prescribed by your doctor. You can then use cinnamon in addition, but under no circumstances can it replace prescribed medicines.
