7 effective beauty tricks and some myths

Many effective beauty tricks are passed on from generation to generation. Others are myths and are in truth useless. However, today we have some very helpful tips for your beauty.

Effective beauty tricks

1. Replace mascara every three months

effective beauty tricks like replacing mascara

Some makeup tips just seem to be there to sell more products. The recommendation not to use mascara for more than three months also sounds like it. But you should actually follow this advice.

The consistency of the liquid is ideal for bacteria. Therefore, when you put on the mascara, bacteria are also with it! These multiply over time and could cause an eye infection.

  • If you notice your eyes turning red or burning, try to remember how long you’ve been using the mascara.
  • If you apply makeup in an unsanitary environment, it can get dirty more quickly.

2. Toner is always important

Originally, toner was used for oily skin and acne. That is why some still believe that they do not need one for example with dry skin.

But there is a toner for every skin type, you just have to choose the right one.

  • If your skin needs a thorough cleansing or is oily, try using a  toner that contains salicylic acid, glycolic acid, or lactic acid.
  • Irritated skin you kansnt Kam illentee or use cucumber with the contents of a vitamin E capsule.
  • If your skin needs more moisture, try using a facial toner with glycerin, hyaluronic acid, or rose water.
  • A product with vitamin C is recommended for age spots.

3. Toothpaste helps against pimples

Again and again you hear that toothpaste is good for pimples. But is that really true?

The answer is yes. Toothpaste contains hydrogen peroxide and triclosan, which dry out pimples. It also has an antibacterial effect and is therefore very effective.

  • But be careful, with sensitive skin, toothpaste can cause reddening or flaking.
  • In this case, use a different product.

4. Red nail polish gives the nails a yellowish tint

This old wisdom is also true, because nails absorb color pigments from nail polish.

The best way to prevent discoloration is to apply base coat first. If you don’t have one right now and still want to paint your nails red, you should remove the paint soon.

5. Sleeping without removing make-up causes blackheads

That’s right. If you don’t remove your make-up before bed, your pores will be clogged and your  skin won’t be able to breathe properly.

The skin repairs during the night, but this process is compromised if the skin is not properly cleansed. So you should carefully remove the make-up every night!

6. Wax hair removal is better

Hair removal with wax also pulls out the hair root. It will therefore take longer for your hair to grow back than if you shave.

So you don’t have to remove body hair quite as often. In addition,  the hair is gradually weakened and grows less vigorously.

7. Your skin gets used to care products over time

True beauty tricks and how to keep yourself fresh and beautiful

This is a half-truth. It is true that the skin can get used to certain ingredients in care products. This is the case with vitamin A, for example.

But it does not apply to all substances. For example, the skin does not get used to antioxidants, moisture or peptides. Nevertheless, some beauty products no longer work quite as effectively after a while.

Then you should switch to a different care product to  keep your skin beautiful. Just try out different active ingredients and get advice from your dermatologist.
