The preparation is very easy. First you peel the ripe plantains and dip them in oil, margarine or butter. It’s best to do this with your hands so that the whole fruit is well covered.

After you bake it at high temperature on each side for 20 minutes. As soon as they are golden brown or even a little darker, cut an opening lengthways with a knife.

  • 4 grilled or baked ripe plantains (150 g).
  • Black pepper or other spices as you like.
  • 4 slices of cheese suitable for baking, such as mozzarella or similar cheeses (80 g).

preparation

  1. First preheat the oven to around 200ºC.
  2. Then you cut the baked plantains lengthways.
  3. Fill it with the cheese and add a little pepper.
  4. Now bake the stuffed bananas at 180ºC until the cheese has melted.
  5. Then serve immediately.

Plantains with a cheese and meat filling

This recipe offers a very tasty contrast between the sweet taste of the banana and the salty taste of the meat and cheese filling:

ingredients

  • Salt and pepper to taste.
  • 1/2 kg of minced meat.
  • ½ cup of pureed tomatoes (100 ml).
  • 1 cup of bechamel sauce (200 ml).
  • 1 tomato cut into small pieces (30 g).
  • 4 ripe, grilled or baked plantains (150 g).
  • 1 finely chopped onion (25 g).
  • Half a pepper cut into small pieces (15 g).
  • 1 cup of grated parmesan cheese (150 g).
  • 2 cups of crumbled mozzarella (300 g).

preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to around 200 ° C.
  2. Fry the vegetables. First add the onion pieces, then the bell pepper and finally the tomato.
  3. Then you add the minced meat. Fry it briefly and finally add the pureed tomatoes. Season to taste.
  4. Fry the whole mixture until the meat is well done but still juicy.
  5. Then cut the grilled plantains lengthways.
  6. Now you put the filling and the remaining ingredients in the opening: the bechamel sauce, the mozzarella and the grated parmesan.

Plantains with tuna filling

Even if it may not seem like it, the combination of tuna and banana is a delicious variant:

ingredients

  • Salt and pepper to taste.
  • Juice of half a lemon (50 ml).
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley.
  • 1 tomato cut into small pieces (25 g).
  • 4 tablespoons of olive oil (80 ml).
  • 4 ripe, grilled or baked plantains (150 g).
  • 1 medium-sized, finely chopped onion (40 g).
  • 1 small pepper cut into fine pieces (20 g).
  • 2 cups of crumbled mozzarella (200 g).
  • Canned tuna in oil, quantity as required.

  1. Preheat the oven to around 200 ° C.
  2. First fry the onion pieces, then add the bell pepper and tomato and let everything sauté briefly. The onion should be fried until golden.
  3. Now you add the tuna and mix everything.
  4. Add the salt, pepper, the parsley, and the lemon juice. Mix everything well so that the different flavors blend together well.
  5. Then cut the grilled plantains lengthways.
  6. Now put the prepared tuna filling into the opening. Then you pour the mozzarella over it. Be careful not to add too much filling to the plantains.

Plantains with guacamole filling

This recipe is a Mexican variant of the stuffed plantain that uses guacamole. Guacamole is a delicious sauce that tastes very refreshing and is very easy to prepare.

  • 2 cups of guacamole (300 ml).
  • 4 slices of avocado (40 g).
  • 2 cups of grated cheese (300 g).
